Sarah Staton: Post Pop Hamburger

Sarah Staton’s ‘The Esperanto of Currency’ has now been installed on the threshold of FILET as a permanent public artwork. With this work, Staton offers a topical riposte to current debates on global markets, stretched economies and siphoned hyper-wealth. To find out more and to visit (by appointment), contact FILET.

Sarah Staton’s edition for The Multiple Store is Post Pop Hamburger, a multiple first cast in bronze and subsequently chrome-plated where Staton reflects on the hamburger as the quintessential consumer symbol emanating from post-war American culture. This is America in its heyday when everyone believed in the Dream. Click here to read more about this edition or to purchase it online.

Sarah Staton at the Folkestone Triennial until 2 November 2014

Sarah Staton is exhibiting at the Folkestone Triennial until 2 November 2014. For Folkestone, Staton has developed Steve, conceived as a ‘people friendly sculpture’ or a personified sculptural pavilion, and placed on The Stade. The Stade was originally a working area alongside ships berthing in the harbour, but now for the most part it has been given over to leisure and tourism. This location provides a great home for Steve, conceived as a monument to a person of the future. Click here to read more.
