Yinka Shonibare MBE’s ‘Wilderness into a Garden’ a major exhibition at the Daegu Art Museum, Korea, opens on 30 May

After three solo shows in North America and a major commission at the William Morris Gallery in London, Yinka Shonibare MBE is now the subject of a major exhibition in Daegu, Korea.

Wilderness into a Garden opens on 30th May at the Daegu Art Museum and will feature approximately 80 of his pieces including sculptures, two-dimensional works, installations, and video works will be on display, showcasing his extensive range of art. The exhibition will be comprised of six sub-themes: money, play, empire, conflict, environment, and love. For more information click here.

yinka-shonibare-300x300Yinka Shonibare MBE, a Turner Prize nominee, recently created an edition for The Multiple Store, Kaleidoscope in which the artist playfully explores gender stereotypes and power relations. A kaleidoscope in the shape of a phallus, with the body beautifully decorated in the Dutch wax batik patterns the artist is known for, and the head made of highly polished brass.
